The Test to Release Scheme is optional and relies on having a negative test at least five full days after arriving in the UK. This means that if you arrive on a Saturday the first time that a test can be carried out is the following Thursday.
Chelsea Medical is only doing self-administered swab testing. Under the regulations it is permitted for people to go to a testing centre to have the test carried out but we have a strict Covid restriction protocol for our premises which excludes people who are at risk and isolating.
We carry out tests Monday – Friday.
If you want us to organise the test for you then you need to contact us and arrange to collect a testing kit or we can send it to you when you return. It has full details of how to take your swab and it is very easy to use. Once this is done you will need to return it to us for forwarding to our laboratory. Our laboratory anticipates getting a result the next day if we receive the swab before 10.30am and you will be informed of the result. This usually works best if you live reasonably close to our practice in Chelsea.
Our current price for this service is £195.00. We will guide you through the process but if you require additional medical advice beyond help with getting the test organised and done this is likely to generate additional fees.
If you need your test done on a Saturday or Sunday or you do not want to use the self testing kit and would prefer to have your test carried out by a health professional in a face to face consultation then we would suggest contacting either:
The London General Practice, 114A Harley Street, LONDON W1G 7JL - telephone number 020 7935 1000
Collinson Group Ltd, Heathrow Airport, O2 Arena and other airports - https://www.collinsongroup.com/en/covid-19-testing
Please also note that test results are notified to UK government and you may be contacted by the relevant agency about your test results.
